MARBELLA – This year, players in the Marbella Casino lost an amount of €10,000 in chips. The so-called ‘orphan tokens’ have been exchanged for real money that is used for municipal social projects.

Orphan chips are the chips that customers leave behind, forget or lose in the casino and can never claim again. The Casino de Marbella made this known in a statement on Thursday. After the final count, the orphan tokens are exchanged for real money, as has been done for decades. Moreover, the money was then delivered to the town hall. This was with the aim of using it for social projects aimed at underprivileged families.

Absolute record

The amount collected for 2022 has risen to €9,740, an absolute record and the highest amount collected so far since the start of this initiative. Casino Marbella has already delivered more than €260,000 to the mayor’s office, positioning itself with that amount as one of the most solidary companies in the municipality.
