Ski season ticket

VIELHA – In the coming winter sports season you can ski in no fewer than 14 ski areas in the Catalan Pyrenees with one season ticket.

FGC Turisme has announced this. The company operates the Catalan ski areas for the regional government. Furthermore, the company has launched its season tickets for its six ski resorts and mountain areas for this winter.

According to the specialised medium Nevasport.com, the FGC Turisme season pass allows skiing without restrictions in their ‘own’ six ski areas, as well as in Tavascán and the seven areas of Tot Nòrdic. This translates into more than 250 kilometres of alpine ski trails and almost 200 kilometres of cross-country ski trails.

The stations are:

  • La Molina (La Cerdanya)
  • Vall de Núria and Vallter (Ripollés)
  • Espot, Port Ainé and Tavascan (Pallars Sobirà)
  • Boi Taüll (Alta Ribagorça)
  • Up to Nordic stations (7)

Of the eleven ski stations in this area, Baqueira/Beret/Bonaiqua in Valle de Arán is the best known. Many Spanish celebrities, including the royal family, regularly whiz along the 95 kilometres of slopes here. Surrounded by spectacular mountain peaks and dense forests, this area is suitable for all levels.

In the capital of the valley, Vielha, there is an ice palace where you can skate and swim. The Boí Taüll Resort area was created in 1990. The facilities are modern, although the slopes themselves have no accommodation. In Espot Esui the slopes (37 kilometres) are particularly suitable for more experienced skiers.

The two areas of La Molina and Masella together contain 111 kilometres of slopes and are connected. The small villages around these slopes are full of Roman, Gothic and Modernist monuments. Furthermore, the city of Girona is only 150 kilometres away.

There is a daily bus from Barcelona to Port Ainé ski station. This way you can combine your city trip with a day on the slopes. The other five ski areas in the Catalan Pyrenees (Tavascan, Rasos de Pequera, Vall de Nuria and Vallter) are also easily accessible from Barcelona and Girona. Port del Compte (40 kilometres of slopes) is known as the most beautiful area.
