The teenager is indeed an influencer and is followed by his fans, therefore he has a responsibility to these people.
Minister of Equality for Spain
Irene Montero, Minister of Equality for Spain took to twitter when she learned of Darrechi´s video.
In the tweet, she says, “Removing the condom or ejaculating inside without consent is today sexual abuse and the Law #SoloSíesSí (only yes means yes) will recognise it as aggression”. She added, “Bragging to 26million followers about something like this reflects the urgency of putting consent at the centre. The Prosecutor’s Office will be informed.”

Responsibility
As a social media influencer, it is important to realise that everything you put out there, you are accountable for. The very nature of the word “influencer” means there is an impact on followers from the content viewed. This is also why companies use influencers as a cost-effective way of marketing. Because it works!
Social media platforms
Should social media platforms be more aware of what content is being posted on their sites? Only recently there were thousands of hate comments after England lost the Euro 2020 final due to penalties. There is no doubt that social media itself is also a strong influencer and make an impact on the lives of people.
Apology
Darrechi later took to social media to apologise and said:
In a pinned post on twitter, “Being honest, I am breaking into pieces. I don’t want money anymore, I just want a hug. I want to feel an “I love you” again and enjoy with who brought me here. And when I go to heaven – remember me down here!
In a recording, he apologised saying he said he got lost in fame and did things he regrets and became someone he never wanted to be. He does not want his fans to make excuses for him as every bit of hate he is receiving, he deserves it.
