Correos, Spain’s national postal company, has announced a new service that will allow travellers to safely store their luggage in one of 2,388 offices across the country.
This service is available to anyone who needs to temporarily store suitcases or other personal items. However, the luggage must fall within the permitted service conditions. Items can be kept safe for up to 15 days.
Easy and safe storage for travellers
This service can be contracted at any Correos office. Costs vary depending on the weight of the luggage and the duration of storage. All luggage must be securely locked to secure its contents. It is important to know that valuables such as jewellery and other unauthorised items may not be left in the lockers.
To use this new service, customers only need to fill out a form. They can then deposit their luggage for the desired period. In addition, customers can pick up their items at any time. Even before the agreed storage period has expired.
Special attention to pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago
In addition to the general luggage storage service, Correos also offers a specific service for pilgrims of the Camino de Santiago. Hikers and cyclists arriving in Santiago de Compostela can contract the service personally at the city’s main post office. They can also arrange the storage of backpacks and bicycles online. This simplifies the planning of their visit to the Galician capital. With this service, Correos responds to the growing tourism sector, also in the north of the country.
