Spanish authorities have warned the public about the presence of a foreign object in Hacendado chocolate bars, Mercadona’s own brand.
The product in question is sold in all Mercadona S.A. stores. chain, the Spanish Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (AESAN) reported. This is a well-known house brand chocolate bar. Health inspectors have detected a foreign object in the chocolate bars. Therefore, the population is advised not to consume it.
Through the Coordinated Rapid Exchange of Information System (SCIRI) and the European Food Safety Alert Network (RASFF), AESAN has been informed by the competent authorities of the Valencia region about the presence of the foreign object in chocolate bars.
As a result, the distributor has requested the recall of the affected products from its outlets nationwide. This concerns the following product:
