Large tourist complex on the Spanish east coast has new owners

OROPESA DEL MAR/ORPESA – Marina d’Or has new owners for €70 million: Magic Costa Blanca and Grupo Fuertes acquire the tourist complex from Farallon Capital. The hotel management will be taken over by the Magic Costa Blanca hotel chain.

Grupo Fuertes will take over business management support. On Wednesday, the acquisition by Grupo Fuertes and Magic Costa Blanca of the Marina d’Or tourist complex, located in Oropesa del Mar, was completed. The complex was owned by the American investment fund Farallon Capital Management L.L.C. The transaction was approved by the national competition watchdog CNMC. Both groups have a 50% stake in the ownership of the tourist complex.

Strong group

Grupo Fuertes is a business holding company with 100% Spanish capital. It unites more than 20 different companies whose activity is mainly focused on the agri-food sector. Among them is ElPozo Alimentación, a leader in the sector. The business group has more than 8,700 employees and its turnover volume amounted to more than €2.3 billion in 2022.

Magic Costa Blanca

Magic Costa Blanca is a hotel group with almost 50 years of experience in the tourism sector. It is a leading company in the tourist accommodation sector in the Valencian Community. Furthermore, it has gained recognitions such as the Traveller’s Choice awards from Tripadvisor and the Traveller Review Awards from Booking. The business group has almost 2,000 employees and manages 11,695 beds.

Marina d’Or is a popular tourist complex on the east coast of Spain, in the province of Castellón, on the Costa del Azahar. It is known for its beautiful beaches and luxurious resorts.
