BENIDORM – Benidorm, one of the most popular tourist cities on the Costa Blanca, is preparing for a special New Year’s Eve celebration with a British touch on Levante Beach.

The city expects to host one of the busiest New Year celebrations in the Marina Baixa region, attracting a lot of attention both nationally and internationally. The event, which starts on Sunday afternoon, will take a unique twist this year with a double celebration of the New Year.

An evening full of entertainment

The festivities start at 7:00 PM and continue until 1:30 AM. Visitors can enjoy the performances of various local DJs and continuous entertainment, both in national and international style. The organizers expect more than 10,000 people to gather to wave goodbye to 2023 on the city’s main beach. Several catering establishments along the coastline have joined the event. They will provide the traditional lucky grapes and other festive items.

Spectacular show and Big Ben live

During the chiming of the bells at midnight, the traditional twelve grapes of luck ritual will be carried out. Thereafter, a large musical spectacle will take place in which music and fireworks come together impressively. As a special addition, a live link will be made to British television at 1 am to broadcast the chimes of Big Ben in London. This is a gesture to the many British tourists who choose Benidorm every year to ring in the new year.

Large screen for a better experience

The town hall will install six large screens; one on stage and five more on the beach. This way, the public will be able to better follow the chimes and the planned performances that evening. Mariló Cebreros, councilor for Festivities, explains that this initiative is a sign of appreciation to British tourists, who annually choose Benidorm in large numbers to end the year.
