In general, the months of July to September are the months in which most requests for compensation are submitted. Within Europe, Schiphol was the airport with the most claims last year. But which Spanish airports received the most complaints and requests for recovery last year?
Reclama Travel’s data shows that more than half of the claims (52%) are related to flight delays. In 33% of cases, the demand is related to cancellations. 15% of the claims have another cause.
Spanish airports with the most claims
Reclama Travel has compiled this data based on an average of 9,000 cases handled in 2023, for a total of 19,000 passengers. And the busier it is at an airport, the greater the chance of incidents. Between July and September, the number of claims increases. Of the claims handled by Spanish claims company Reclama Travel in 2023, Madrid and Barcelona top the top 5 Spanish airports.

Top five in Europe
In Europe, Amsterdam Schiphol is the airport with the most complaints in 2023, followed by Paris Charles de Gaulle and Lisbon. Düsseldorf Weeze and Brussels Charleroi finished in fourth and fifth place.

Of the complaints managed by Reclama Travel in 2023, Air Europa leads the top 10 airlines.
