On Sunday morning, three workers from Hidroeléctrica lost their lives when their helicopter crashed in Monte Picayo, near Puçol, Valencia. The accident occurred around 10.00 am while the workers were conducting routine inspections of the electrical grid.
According to the Guardia Civil, the helicopter struck high-voltage power cables, causing it to crash in a rural area. Tragically, the three workers on board died instantly. Emergency services, including firefighters and the Guardia Civil, responded to the scene.

Risk of fire and electrical hazards
The crash site posed further dangers, with power lines left hanging over the wreckage and fuel from the helicopter scattered across the area. Firefighters remained on alert to prevent the risk of fire and to manage any electrical hazards. Two ambulances were also dispatched to the scene by the CICU, but no survivors were found. An investigation is likely to follow to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
