Nine Spanish airports have received recognition from the International Council of Airports (ACI) for their service quality. A total of 13 awards were granted under the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) programme, which evaluates passenger experience.
Among Spain’s larger airports, Palma de Mallorca was named the best airport handling 25 to 40 million passengers annually. Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández received recognition in the 15 to 25 million passenger category, while Seville Airport was awarded in the 5 to 15 million passenger group.
Recognition for smaller airports
Several smaller Spanish airports, each serving fewer than two million passengers, also received awards. Girona-Costa Brava, El Hierro, Pamplona, Reus, and Zaragoza were acknowledged for their service quality. These results highlight the ability of smaller facilities to meet high standards.
Awards for specific excellence
Barcelona-El Prat Airport won an award for having the most dedicated staff in Europe. Cleanliness awards were given to El Hierro and Pamplona, while Reus and El Hierro were recognised for their easy-to-navigate layouts.
Awards ceremony in September
The official presentation of these awards will take place at the ACI World Customer Experience Summit and Exhibition. The event is scheduled for 8 to 11 September 2025 in Guangzhou, China.
