Málaga has a new addition to its police force: Go2, a revolutionary robot equipped with artificial intelligence (AI). This metal tool can perform tasks that go beyond the capabilities of humans. Such as surrounding a vehicle, analysing occupant behaviour, and detecting gas leaks thanks to an electronic olfactory organ.

Go2 has been integrated into the local police of Málaga to improve the security and surveillance of the city. “This system makes it possible to monitor a much larger area without the need to call in more officers,” says an expert. This means that the city can be secured more efficiently without additional manpower.

AI in everyday life

Experts stress that AI “has many applications” and “the beauty of it is that it can make your life easier”. While some people are concerned about the use of artificial intelligence and robots, experts argue that “we should not see them as enemies, but rather as great allies”.

Innovative technology

Created by the robot chain Unitree Robotics, Go2 integrates ChatGPT for multiple movements and functions. The robot weighs about 15 kg, is almost 40 centimetres high, and is made of aluminum and high-quality technical plastic. The device has 360° cameras and GPS sensors with a high detection capacity. In addition, Go2 is fast, agile, and light, so it can run, jump, stand up, and climb stairs without any problems.

Personal use and applications

Now that it is known this robot is for sale on various websites, for around $2.400 (depending on the model), there are people who want to buy it for personal use.

Importance of data management

Experts emphasise that it is essential to correctly manage the data that these systems process and ensure transparency and control. Only then can artificial intelligence become an ally and not pose a potential risk.
