The Spanish Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT) will install 122 new speed cameras across the country in 2025. The initiative, announced by Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska, aims to address speeding, a major cause of fatal road accidents.
Currently, 24 of these speed cameras are already operational in A Coruña, Málaga, and Valencia. Among the new installations, 17 are fixed-speed cameras, while seven are average-speed cameras, also known as section controls.
New speed cameras in the Valencia region
In the Comunidad Valenciana, the new speed enforcement measures will be introduced in the provinces of Alicante and Valencia. The locations, including kilometre markers and directions of travel, are as follows:
Alicante
- Fixed camera: N-332, km 89.050 (southbound), Santa Pola.
- Fixed camera: CV-86, km 13.800 (northbound), entrance to Elche.
- Fixed camera: CV-905, km 7.050 (southbound), near El Chaparral (Torrevieja).
- Fixed camera: A-77a, km 0.420 (northbound), San Vicente del Raspeig.
Valencia
- Average speed camera: A-3, km 347.1 – 349.15 (northbound), Ribarroja del Turia.

New speed cameras in Andalucia
In Andalucia, the new speed cameras will be located in the provinces of Almería, Granada, and Málaga. The specific locations are:
Almería
- Fixed camera: A-1050, km 1.200 (southbound), Las Norias de Daza, near El Ejido.

- Average speed camera: A-370, km 8.400 – 9.400 (northbound), near Garrucha.
Granada
- Fixed camera: N-432, km 425.950 (southbound), near Atarfe.
Málaga
- Fixed camera: A-7054, km 3.500 (northbound), near Campanillas, Málaga.
- Average speed camera: MA-20, km 9.300 – 10.300 (northbound), near Av. de Valle-Inclán, Málaga city.
Speed camera margins and operation
Newly installed speed cameras have a margin of error of ±3 km/h for speeds below 100 km/h and ±3% for speeds exceeding 100 km/h. These tolerances apply to mobile, fixed, and average-speed cameras.
Average-speed cameras monitor vehicle speeds over a specific distance. Cameras record number plates at entry and exit points, and a computer calculates the travel time to determine the average speed. If a vehicle exceeds the limit, a fine is issued.
The DGT views these measures as essential for improving road safety and ensuring compliance with speed regulations.
