On 7 March 2025, La Cala de Mijas will host the 12th Annual ‘Make it Happen by Being You’ Conference. This is a cornerstone event for women in business both locally and internationally.
Organised by Costa Women in collaboration with the Mijas Foreigners Department, and supported by CIOMijas and the Junta de Andalucía, the conference aims to inspire women to harness their unique strengths in both professional and personal spheres.

Ali Meehan, founder of Costa Women and Business Growth Coach, emphasises the event’s dual focus: “Each year, we curate this conference to ensure women depart feeling not only inspired but also equipped with practical tools they can immediately apply. Supporting women entrepreneurs
This year’s conference will raise funds for the Soroptimist project, aiding female entrepreneurs affected by the DANA floods in both local areas and Valencia. Daphne Theunissen, President of SI Costa del Sol, underscores the initiative’s impact: “Assisting a woman in rebuilding her business extends benefits to her entire community.”
