Renfe invites you to explore the enchanting region of Galicia through its 2024 Tourist Trains. This unique travel experience offers themed routes that take you on a journey through Galicia’s rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes, all from the comfort of a train.

Routes and highlights

Ruta de los Faros

The Ruta de los Faros, or Lighthouse Route, is a breathtaking journey along Galicia’s rugged coastline. Starting from the A Capelada mountain range, the route visits iconic locations such as the Ortegal Cape and the Vixía Herbeira cliffs, some of the highest in Europe. The tour includes stops at the Santo André de Teixido sanctuary and the historic streets of Viveiro, concluding at the Estaca de Bares and Loiba cliffs, where visitors can enjoy spectacular views.

  • Dates: 3 and 31 August, 7 September.

Ruta del Vino Rías Baixas

This wine route immerses you in the heart of Galicia’s winemaking region. It begins with wine tasting at the Pazo Baión winery in O Salnés, followed by a tour of the historic Fefiñáns square in Cambados. After lunch in Vigo, the journey includes a cruise to San Simón Island, known for its rich history of troubadours and battles.

Ruta de las Mariñas

Travel from A Coruña to Ferrol through the Biosphere Reserve of As Mariñas and Terras do Mandeo. The tour starts in Betanzos, known for its historic centre, continues to Paderne to visit the Orballo tea plantation, and then moves to Pontedeume to see its medieval tower and bridge. The route ends in Ferrol with a boat ride on the estuary and a visit to the A Madalena neighbourhood, famed for its Enlightenment architecture.

  • Dates: 17 August.

Ruta de los Pazos and historical gardens

This route explores three of Galicia’s most iconic gardens. The tour begins at Pazo Quinteiro da Cruz, renowned for its French garden and tea tastings, followed by a visit to the Soutomaior Castle, famous for its camellia park. The journey concludes at Pazo de Rubiáns in Vilagarcía de Arousa, where visitors can admire extensive varieties of trees and camellias.

Ticket prices and booking

Tickets for the 2024 Tourist Trains are priced as follows:

  • Adults: €45
  • Children under 14: €20
  • Children under 3: Free (no seat)

Groups of 10 or more can enjoy a 15% discount. Tickets can be purchased on Renfe’s website, at Renfe stations, or through associated travel agencies. Note that tickets are non-transferable but can be cancelled up to 24 hours before the journey without additional charges.
