cold weather

Temperatures in Spain will drop on Sunday, with code yellow for coastal surges and wind in the north of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, according to the forecast by Spanish weather service AEMET. This will bring cold weather to much of Spain.

Minimum temperatures will drop almost everywhere in the country. Maximum temperatures will also fall in the Mediterranean and the north-east of the peninsula, and rise in the Cantabrian Sea and mountain areas, while little change is expected in the rest of the country.

Code yellow for wind and wave action

Winds are from the northwest and can be strong. Due to the wind, A Coruña, Lugo and Navarre will receive a yellow warning and Menorca, in the Balearic Islands, will receive a yellow warning for waves up to 3 metres. Due to coastal phenomena, A Coruña, Lugo, Pontevedra and Girona are also at risk, where northerly and north-westerly winds of 50 to 60 km/h (force 7) and waves of three to four metres are expected.
