This March, Andalucia is set to improve its air connectivity with Europe as three new flight routes begin operations. These new links will connect Seville and Málaga with major cities in the UK, Germany, and Denmark, offering greater travel options for both tourists and business travellers.
The flights will be run by SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Jet2.com, and Eurowings. This promises to reinforce the region’s appeal as a key travel destination.
Direct flights between Copenhagen and Seville
On March 1st, SAS Scandinavian Airlines launched a new route linking Copenhagen and Seville. This twice-weekly service offers a direct and convenient option for Danish travellers heading to the Andalucian capital. The new connection is expected to encourage both tourism and economic exchanges between the two regions.
Liverpool to Málaga now available via Jet2.com
As of today, March 5th, Jet2.com has started a new service between Liverpool and Málaga. The airline will operate three flights per week using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. This new route is expected to strengthen Málaga’s already strong appeal among British travellers, providing another direct link between the UK and the Costa del Sol.
Düsseldorf to Seville flights set to launch
Later this month, on March 30th, Eurowings will introduce a new direct route between Düsseldorf and Seville. This service, also scheduled three times per week, will be operated with an Airbus A320. Given Germany’s significant role as a key tourism market for Andalucia, this new connection is likely to encourage more visitors to explore the region’s cultural and historical offerings.
A growing network of international connections
The addition of these three new routes further strengthens Andalucia’s ties with European cities. Moreover, it makes travel to and from the region more accessible. Currently, Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport alone is set to operate 259 routes to 156 destinations worldwide. These include 210 routes within Europe. The UK remains the leading market, with 55 routes offering nearly 5 million seats and 26,000 flights, while London tops the list with over 2 million seats on 10,800 flights.
