BARCELONA – Police in Barcelona (Mossos) have launched an investigation into the violent death of an 18-year-old man in Pineda de Mar.
According to their official website, at 8.30 pm on Thursday, they received information that a violent incident had taken place.
Knife attack
On arrival at the scene, a man was lying unconscious. Furthermore, there were indications the violent attack had been caused by a knife or knives. However, despite efforts from the emergency services and the police, they were unable to revive him.
Investigation into violent attack
Police from the Criminal Investigation Area of the North Metropolitan Police Region are conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the case.
Massive street fight
EFE news agency reported on a massive street fight. They stated that sources close to the investigation indicated that the victim was stabbed in the chest during a violent street fight in which many people participated. The alleged attackers fled the scene after the fatal stabbing.
Man arrested
As later Tweeted by Mossos, a man has now been arrested in connection with the death. The investigation continues.
