After receiving the emergency call, the CICU immediately deployed a SAMU unit and a medically supplied helicopter from Alicante province. Assistance was also provided by a basic Red Cross life support unit.

In addition to the men’s injuries, the explosion also caused a fire on board the ship. Four firefighting teams from the Provincial Fire Brigade Consortium of Alicante have been dispatched to the site, as reported by the Generalitat’s Emergency Management Centre on their social media channels.
