EasyJet announces 9 new routes to Spain for the winter

EasyJet has announced it is adding 60 new routes to its global network for the winter season. This will include nine to Spain.

These will connect the airports of Barcelona, ​​Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Alicante and Madrid with the UK, France, Italy and Austria. “We are pleased to announce nine new routes for the winter season to Spain. This is a strategic market which we have grown over time,” said Javier Gándara, general manager of easyJet in Southern Europe.

New routes and frequencies

  • Barcelona-El Prat: Gets a new weekly route from Salzburg (Austria).
  • Fuerteventura: Receives flights from Belfast, Glasgow and Liverpool (UK) and Paris/Charles de Gaulle (France), all with twice weekly flights except Liverpool.
  • Lanzarote: Connects to Glasgow (UK) and Nice (France), both with twice weekly frequencies.
  • Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández: Gets a route from Naples (Italy) with two weekly flights.
  • Madrid-Barajas: Will have two weekly connections with Nice (France).

Strategic growth

This expansion underlines easyJet’s commitment to the Spanish market, which remains an important destination for both leisure and business travellers. The new routes will not only boost tourism, but also strengthen economic ties between Spain and the countries involved.
