MALAGA – The question is whether Malaga province needs a promotional video. Without any travel restrictions, it will undoubtedly be as busy as usual. Nevertheless, the Costa del Sol attracted well-known artists from different genres to put the region in the spotlight.
The video (see end of article) is part of the promotional campaign for the Costa del Sol which Malaga province will present at Fitur 2021. Twenty renowned artists such as Antonio Banderas, Salva Reina, Pasion Vega and La Mari are participating. The video aims to showcase the talent, joy and hospitality of the people of Malaga and welcome travellers after the pandemic.
The group Dry Martina, together with Latrama and Montape, provided a version of one of their songs in which Antonio Banderas, Pasión Vega, Fran Perea, Javier Castillo, La Mari, rapper Easy, Little Pepe also appear.
“This edition of Fitur is arguably the most important in history, including for us. And that is why we will commit ourselves in an unprecedented way,” said Costa del Sol Turismo president Francisco Salado on Friday.
The filming of the the video took place at locations such as the Carmen Thyssen Museum Málaga, the Caminito del Rey, the Soho Caixabank Theater and numerous locations on the beaches of Marbella, Nerja, Torremolinos and Vélez-Malaga. Also featuring are: the centre of Estepona, Benalmádena, the cliffs in Rincón de la Victoria, the Saltillo bridge in Canillas de Aceituno, the wooden walkway at the mouth of the Guadalhorce, the Peña de los Enamorados and the Torcal de Antequera, the gorge in Ronda and the centre of Frigiliana.
All artists, in addition to their participation, will help to promote the province of Málaga as a destination and the video on their social networks. According to Salado, “there is no better campaign” because of the number of followers these artists collectively have. This will help them achieve the “dizzying” reach. “Together the artists have more than 11.6 million followers on the major social networks and I am convinced that this video will go viral,” Salado commented.
Turismo Costa del Sol will be located in Ifema Pavilion 5 at Fitur 2021. It is hosting a total of 80 institutions, including municipal councils and companies in the tourism sector, and approximately 150 professionals. As in previous years, the Costa del Sol booth will present numerous and varied private and public initiatives, focusing on cultural, leisure and sports activities.
The province’s financial commitment to Fitur 2021 and to the national market this year amounts to more than €800,000. Francisco Salado assured “the residents of Madrid, and everyone on social networks, have already been able to follow some of the promotional campaigns being developed in Atocha, at the Sol metro station. It is already called Costa del Sol station today because of its direct connection to the tourist destination in southern Spain.” With this two-week promotion, Turismo Costa del Sol expects 20 million hits.
“Fitur is this year’s fair of reunification, of the restoration of normalcy, of the will to live. There we want to show the entire national market, all of Spain, that the Costa del Sol is ready to welcome everyone with open arms; ready to offer unique and magical experiences too,”added Salado.
