Missing Polish tourist Marbella

Patryk Kosciowski, a 33-year-old missing Polish tourist, has been found dead in Elviria, Marbella, after walking away from a car following an argument with his girlfriend.

Patryk had been visiting the Costa del Sol with his girlfriend, Karolina. The couple were staying in an apartment in Puerto Banús, Marbella, and had spent several days exploring the region before a night out in Torremolinos on Friday 3 May.

The incident began in the early hours of Saturday morning while the couple were returning from a nightclub. According to Karolina, they began to argue during the drive, and Patryk demanded to be let out of the car shortly after passing through the Mijas toll booths on the AP-7 motorway.

Couple remained in contact

After Patryk got out the car, Karolina continued driving, but remained in contact with Patryk by WhatsApp. He refused to give his location but said he would get a taxi or Uber to return to their accommodation. His last message was sent just after 3.00 am, stating his phone battery was low. Shortly after, communication was lost.

When Patryk did not return, Karolina reported him missing. His details were shared on SOS Desaparecidos, a Spanish missing persons network.

Body discovered four days later

Several days later, Patryk’s body was found in a remote wooded area in Elviria. The terrain between the motorway and Elviria is rugged and poorly lit, making it particularly difficult to navigate at night. It is not a direct route to Puerto Banús, which is over 20 kilometres away by road and even farther on foot.

While the precise cause of death has not yet been confirmed, early reports indicate no immediate signs of violence. As reported by El Español, investigators are considering several possibilities, including an accidental fall or being struck by a vehicle. An autopsy is pending.

Safety concerns on major Spanish roadways

Although not illegal, walking along or near Spanish toll roads like the AP-7 is both dangerous and uncommon due to poor visibility and high-speed traffic. This incident highlights how quickly a holiday can take a tragic turn under unforeseen circumstances.
