Recently, the Spanish consumer organisation OCU conducted research on Spanish wine. And the winning wine with the best value for money is Abadía San Quirce Crianza 2019.

Spain is a major producer, with a winemaking tradition dating back centuries. But which also keeps up with the times: Spain has been able to perfect techniques and take advantage of the variety of climates and soils. And that results in beautiful wines!

Abadía San Quirce Crianza 2019 stands out not only for its price, but also for its origin. The wine is made in the Ribera del Duero appellation, a region famous for its high-quality red wines. The good news is that this costs €12, making it a perfect option for those looking for quality without compromising their budget.

Ribera del Duero

Made in the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin, which was known for its ability to produce high-quality wines. Located in the north of Spain, this region is famous for its high-quality reds, with tempranillo being the most well-known grape variety. The wine is made with selected grapes from vineyards on the best plots of the region, which guarantees its quality.

The grapes are harvested by hand. This way you can be sure that the grapes used for are just ripe enough.

This is what the winner tastes like

The Abadía San Quirce Crianza 2019 is aged in oak barrels, which gives it a unique complexity and character. Maturation usually takes about 12 months. And this gives notes of vanilla, spice and toast. But also the ripe aromas of red fruit and spicy notes with hints of wood make the wine attractive. With a soft, round taste, elegance and freshness, this is a top quality wine. And can be found in Spanish supermarkets!
