LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA – With an investment of €160 million by Grupo Loro Parque, Gran Canaria – just like Tenerife – will have its own ‘Siam Park Gran Canaria’. The ambitious project was presented on Wednesday.
Siam Park Gran Canaria will be added to the tourist offer on the island. It will feature a hotel with 300 rooms and will be located in the south of Gran Canaria, close to Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas. Grupo Loro Parque Vice President Christoph Kiessling stressed that the goal of the new Siam Park is to create a “beautiful, impressive and wonderful” park that makes visitors feel like Indiana Jones adventurers.
The facilities will extend over a kilometre in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. The park will immerse its visitors in an authentic Thai ambience, complete with exotic architectural elements designed and crafted in Thailand using native wood.
There will be a wide beach with white sand, VIP zones with Jacuzzis and a spectacular slide called ‘Arbol de la Vida’ (Tree of Life). This artificial tree, the largest in the world, will serve as an exciting slide that departs from the trunk of the tree.
Visitors will also be able enjoy the Snorkeling River, where they can snorkel along a river with beautiful fish and explore underground ruins, cenotes, and coral areas.
The new park will also host evening openings under the name “Siam Nights”. During these evening sessions, visitors can enjoy a lively atmosphere with music, fireworks, flamethrowers and laser games. Grupo Lore Park thus meets the demand for nightly entertainment among both locals and young tourists.
Addressing the shortage of leisure opportunities
With the construction of the Siam Park Gran Canaria, Grupo Loro Parque hopes to address the “shortage of leisure activities” in Playa del Inglés and bring a world-class attraction to Gran Canaria. Thanks to the experience and success of Siam Park Tenerife, the new park promises to be even more impressive, innovative and unique.
