A year shaped by real life, not headlines alone

supporting InSpain.news 2025

As 2025 comes to a close, we want to pause for a moment and say thank you.

InSpain.news exists because people living in Spain, and those who love it from afar, keep showing up. You read, share, comment, message us with tips, and tell us when a story matters. You also tell us when something needs explaining in plain English, without the noise.

This year reminded us why local news matters. The big national stories always dominate the agenda, but the moments that stayed with many readers were often closer to home: Weather warnings and travel disruptions, shifting rules that caught people out, and the everyday questions that come with building a life in Spain.

We’ve tried to meet that reality with reporting that’s practical and human. Not just what happened, but what it means, and what to do next.

What you came to us for most

Some themes kept returning in 2025, and your response made it clear what matters to this community.

You wanted clarity on changing rules, from driving and travel updates to new requirements that affect daily life. You wanted straightforward explainers on admin and bureaucracy. And, you wanted stories that celebrated Spanish culture without turning it into a postcard. And you wanted to understand the bigger shifts shaping Spain, from housing pressure and tourism debates to the quieter changes in towns and neighbourhoods.

Most of all, you wanted reliability. No drama. No fluff. Just useful journalism you can pass on to friends.

The people behind the numbers

It’s easy to talk about reach and engagement. But what we appreciate most is the human side: the messages from readers who felt less alone after a story landed, the locals who helped us get details right, and the people who flagged issues early because they trusted us to handle them responsibly.

That relationship is the heart of what we do.

Looking ahead to 2026

We’re heading into a new year with a clear focus: more service journalism, more explainers, more local context, and more coverage that helps you live well in Spain — whether you’re here full-time, part-time, or still planning the move.

If there’s a topic you want us to cover more deeply in 2026, tell us. The best editorial calendar is built with readers, not above them.

For now, from all of us at InSpain.news: thank you for reading, for supporting us, and for being part of this community. We’ll see you in 2026.
