MARBELLA – A shooting in Marbella injured two people in daylight on Saturday afternoon. The incident took place near the A-7 near the Guadalmina Shopping Centre.

Three masked men opened fire and then fled in a vehicle. Everything points to a possible score settlement. The two victims have been taken to the Costa del Sol Hospital in Marbella. However, police confirm that their lives are not in danger. One victim has a gunshot wound to the hand and the other victim has injuries to the pelvis, arm and leg. Both victims are stable and their conditions are being closely monitored.

Perpetrators on the run

The incident took place around 12.45 pm. Eyewitnesses report that three people wearing hoods fired the shots. Furthermore, after hitting the two victims, the suspects quickly fled in a car.

Panic among bystanders

Emergency service 112-Andalucia received several calls after the incident, causing panic among those near the incident. The emergency services immediately alerted 061, the national police and the local police.

In addition to medical services, several police units were on site to obtain witness statements and to cordon off the area for investigation. The national police have launched an investigation into the shooting and are looking for the perpetrators. However, no arrests have been made as yet.

A previous incident in July

In July, a similar shooting incident occurred at the Cristamar Shopping Centre in Marbella. This also occurred during the day, when individuals were involved in a shooting using at least one automatic weapon. No injuries were reported and the perpetrators subsequently escaped in their vehicle.
