Mercadona opening hours

Mercadona is changing the opening hours for the new season in 340 establishments. What are these branches?

The high season is just around the corner. More customers, more crowds, also in the supermarkets. In response to the increase in visitor numbers during these months, especially in tourist areas, the Spanish supermarket chain is making an adjustment to its opening hours from Monday 24th of June,

This adaptation will be implemented from June 24, throughout the Spanish community, but with the exception of the Comunidad Valenciana and Catalonia. Since 24 is a public holiday associated with San Juan. In these regions, the changed opening hours will take effect from Tuesday 25 June.

Regular and new opening hours

Normally, Mercadona’s shops are open from 9.00 am to 9.30 pm. On Sundays and public holidays, the 1,617 stores are not open to the public.

However, as of June 24, a number of shops, especially those near tourist and tourist sites, will remain open longer during the summer. You can go there from 9.00 am to 10.00 pm. This measure applies to 340 of the supermarket chain’s 1,617 stores and will remain in force until September.

Also open on Sundays

As an exception, a number of supermarkets will also be open on Sundays and public holidays. This will also be the case for shops in coastal areas or shops frequented by tourists. The opening hours on Sundays are from June 30 from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm.

Check the website

Mercadona hasn’t drawn up a list of the 340 supermarkets that are labelled as ‘very busy’ and therefore will open longer. The supermarket chain refers to the webpage for more information about the opening hours per location.

For the rest of its stores, Mercadona maintains the usual opening hours. As mentioned above, these are from 9.00 am to 9.00 pm, with the exception of holidays and festivities.
