Retro Málaga 2025

Classic car enthusiasts are in for a treat this weekend as Retro Málaga 2025 takes over the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga (FYCMA). The event is already underway and will continue until January 26.

Now in its twelfth edition, this annual event has become a highlight for vintage car lovers. It brings together exhibitions, competitions, and a celebration of automotive history.

What awaits at Retro Málaga 2025?

Retro Málaga 2025 offers a range of activities and attractions, making it the perfect destination for anyone passionate about classic vehicles. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Classic car and motorcycle exhibitions: An impressive collection of vintage vehicles showcasing the past’s artistry and engineering.
  • Market stalls: Browse for rare parts, retro accessories, and memorabilia – a paradise for collectors and restorers.
  • Clubs and associations: Meet local and national car clubs presenting their prized collections and sharing their expertise.
  • Classic car parking area: Bring your own classic car or vintage motorcycle and connect with fellow enthusiasts in an exclusive space.

The Automobile and Fashion Museum of Málaga will also feature a selection from its prestigious collection, including a 1937 Peugeot 402 Eclipse, a 1955 Ford Thunderbird, and a 1933 Ford Model B roadster.

Elegance takes centre stage

A highlight of the event is the Concurso de Elegancia Retro Málaga, now in its second edition. This competition celebrates the originality and aesthetic appeal of classic cars, with 18 vehicles competing across three categories: Postwar, Classics, and Popular Classics.

Judged by a panel of experts, including TV presenters and a rally driver, the competition will focus on condition, authenticity, and design. The Automobile and Fashion Museum of Málaga is entering a standout 1960s Aston Martin DB4 in the Postwar category. Alberto Pedraza, a museum technician, explains, “Vehicles must be in excellent condition and as original as possible. Modern parts detract from their value.”

Winners will be announced on Friday, January 24, at 7.00 pm, adding a touch of prestige to the opening day.

Celebrating 75 years of SEAT

This year’s event includes a special tribute to SEAT, marking the iconic Spanish car manufacturer’s 75th anniversary. A dedicated stand will showcase the brand’s evolution, from its earliest models to beloved classics such as the SEAT Málaga and SEAT Ibiza. This exhibit is a must-visit for fans of Spain’s automotive history.
