MGM Resorts and Sotheby’s will present a special, first-of-its-kind marquee Evening Sale of masterworks by Picasso from the MGM Resorts Fine Art Collection. The auction of the artist’s iconic works includes Femme au béret rouge-orange, Homme et enfant and Buste d’homme.

The auction will be live from the Bellagio on Saturday, October 23. It will be the largest and most significant fine art auction to ever take place in Las Vegas. Eleven of Picasso’s works were all recently on display in the Bellagio’s renowned Picasso restaurant.

The star of the show, with an estimated price of $20-30million, is Femme au béret rouge-orange. Painted in 1938, it is one of the last great paintings of Marie-Thérèse as their relationship grew increasingly more fractious in the late 1930s.

Alongside the striking portrait are two monumental canvases from 1969. One of Picasso’s largest paintings from this period, Homme et enfant reflects the artist’s spontaneous late style. This also has an estimate of $20-30million.

At the more affordable end of the auction scale, estimated at $50-60,000, is ‘Tête d’homme barbu’. A unique two-sided terracotta sculpture created in 1956, it is 38 cm in height.
