Police operation underway

According to reports from Diario Sur, the fatal incident took place at around 8.15 pm in Calahonda. The emergency service 112 Andalucía received multiple calls from concerned residents who reported hearing gunfire.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the shooting may have taken place at or near Club Costa del Sol, also known locally as Finca Naundrup. This venue is a well-known community hub that attracts both locals and tourists. It features sports facilities and is popular for football matches, including those played by the editor’s husband and friends. The area is typically regarded as peaceful and family-friendly, making the event even more shocking for residents.

The Guardia Civil immediately responded, along with local police and health services. Authorities confirmed the victim had died at the scene and began securing the area. A full forensic investigation is underway.

A coordinated police operation has since been launched to track down the person or people responsible. Officers are monitoring roads in and out of the area, and patrols have been stepped up in nearby neighbourhoods.

Second shooting in a week

This is the second shooting in Málaga province in under a week. On Maundy Thursday, a man was injured during a confrontation between families in the Portada Alta district of Málaga city. Five people were detained in that case. One was remanded in custody while the others were released pending further investigation.

Community shock and concern

The suspected location of this latest incident, Club Costa del Sol, is widely seen as a safe environment for sports and social activities. The suggestion that a fatal shooting may have occurred there has alarmed local residents and raised serious concerns over public safety in what is usually a quiet area.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim, and no arrests have been made at the time of writing. The Guardia Civil continues to urge anyone with information to come forward.
