Wake up, Spain! Important event for the future of Spain

Mid-April is an important time for Spain as it is time for the “Wake Up, Spain!” event. Key plans and investment proposals are discussed with members of the government, regional presidents, mayors, social partners and experts.

Wake Up, Spain! an economic forum, runs from April 12th to 15th. Organised by Invertia, EL ESPAÑOL and D  I, the Spanish government, the regional authorities, the provincial and municipal authorities, the social partners and the business community in Spain come together. The Spanish news site El Español wrote on Sunday about the four pillars that are central to this event: digitisation, ecological transition, territorial cohesion and equality.

Seven ministers and six regional presidents of Spain are present

Minister Nadia Calviño of Economy, Teresa Ribera of Ecological Transition, Reyes Maroto of Trade and Tourism, Isabel Celaá of Education and Yolanda Díaz of Labor will present the plans of their ministries in these four days regarding the money from the European funds that Spain will receive. Prime Minister Sánchez of Spain will open the event. The Ministers of Transport and Finance will outline the criteria for the distribution of the €140billion from Brussels.

The six regional presidents who will participate in Wake Up, Spain! are Díaz Ayuso of Madrid, Mañueco of Castile y León; Ximo Puig of Valencia, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla of Andalusia and Núñez Feijóo of Galicia.

More than a hundred speakers at Wake Up, Spain!

In total, seven ministers and the prime minister of the Spanish government will accompany the event. More than 120 speakers from central government, autonomous regions, municipalities, industry and experts in technology and innovation will participate in this four-day event. They will look at how the money can and should be best used to get Spain back on track.
