A game of two halves
The second half begins much as the first half ended. A scramble between the two teams. It is end to end stuff for a while until the game begins to settle down. Then, we start to see some action again. And after 60 minutes, the first goal comes from Chiesa of Italy.
Spain had many chances to equalise, but never found the spot. Then Spain had a fantastic chance to score, but it fell foul giving Italy the chance to go two up. Neither opportunity was taken. Although, then in the 80th minute, Morata scored a magnificent goal for Spain.
Just under nine minutes left plus stoppage time, yet everything to play for. However, after extra time, the game ended 1-1.
Now as we approach the penalty shoot outs. It is crunch time and everyone is nervous. Italy go first, and lose. Spain also lose their first opportunity. Belotti is up next for Italy, and Simon has no chance. The ball goes in the net. Moreno steps up for Spain and scores. It is all square at 1-1 on penalties so far. Simon goes the wrong way for the next penalty and now Italy are in the lead. Thiago shoots directly at the target, and the ball goes into the bottom left corner of the net.
All level once more. Italy then score a magnificent goal leaving Spain everything to do. But Morata is up next! The stadium goes silent as Morata sends in a weak strike and misses. The next penalty is crucial for both sides. Jorginho strikes the ball home and wins the game for Italy.
