MADRID: Thanks to Gigapixel Second Canvas technology and sponsorship from Fundación BBVA, visitors can now take of a virtual tour of the Mythological Passions exhibition rooms at the Prado Museum.
The virtual tour of mythological love looks at 29 works by the greatest figures of European painting. It offers a maximised, millimetric level of zoom for 7 of the paintings – Venus and a Musician and Danaë and the Shower of Gold by Titian; The Garden of Love, Diana and Callisto and The Three Graces by Rubens; Venus and Adonis by Veronese; and The Spinners by Velázquez.
The exceptional Gigapixel Virtual Tour shows far more than the human eye can see. The close-ups show individual brushstrokes, craquelure, the artist’s signature, and so on. In addition, there is a short account of the works with interesting information about them.
