Lorry overturns on Marbella bridge causing major incident near La Cañada

MARBELLA — At around 2:05pm today, a loud explosion-like sound startled residents and shoppers near La Cañada shopping centre.

Within minutes, emergency services — including police, ambulance, and fire crews — arrived at the scene as traffic quickly came to a standstill.

According to initial eyewitness accounts, a lorry overturned while crossing the bridge over the A-7 motorway. The vehicle came to rest across the carriageway, completely blocking the road and causing immediate congestion throughout the area. Nearby streets are also congested as drivers attempt to avoid the situation.
