voucher scheme for Madrid

Madrid launches a €600 voucher scheme to encourage Spanish residents to visit the capital and its community.  The voucher allows 50% discount on hotel, entertainment and other costs.

Madrid regional president Isabel Díaz Ayuso hopes to attract 40,000 national tourists to the capital. The city has launched a €600-voucher scheme – bono turístico – for all official residents in Spain.

The voucher entitles the Spanish resident to 50% discounts on accommodation, travel agency deals and more. There is a maximum saving of €600, so if your budget is less, that’s not a problem.

And the good news is, it’s not just the capital to which the voucher applies. The whole of the Madrid community is included.

There is a minimum one-night stay in the Madrid region to qualify for the voucher. You have to wait at least ten days after you’ve signed up to the scheme before taking advantage of the voucher.

However, once booked, you have 40 days to make use of the voucher. The scheme is due to end on 15th May, 2022.

So far, 10,500 people have signed up to enjoy the offer.

If you fancy a winter or spring break, now’s the time to take advantage of this great offer. There is a focus on using travel agencies to book. However, as they are often able to find great discounts for travel, accommodation and entertainment, you can get even more for your money.

It is important to note, you have to be a formal resident in Spain to apply.
