As already happened in 2022, TUI Germany has decided to bring forward the tourist season in Mallorca.
According to Última Hora, the tour operator has started flights this weekend (February 11-12) from the airports of Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Hannover and Frankfurt, through its airline TUI Fly. It is estimated that the operator has taken 2,500 German tourists to the Spanish island, while the figure will rise to 3,500 tourists this week.
Playa de Palma
The main destination that will benefit from this start of tourism from Germany is Playa de Palma, where there are already 33 hotels open, according to data from the Mallorca Hotel Business Federation (FEHM). Other areas such as Cala Millor, Playa de Muro or Alcúdia will also benefit. Hotel openings will accelerate in the second half of February and at the beginning of March.

It should be remembered that the usual start of the season usually coincides with Easter. It usually is maintained until October. In recent years, it has been brought forward to the beginning of February. This gives a boost to Mallorca’s seasonal adjustment strategy.
Germans and Mallorca
Mallorca, a popular Spanish holiday island in the Mediterranean, has long been a favourite vacation spot for Germans. Furthermore, there have been protests against the growth of mass tourism.
