ANDALUCIA – The Tribunal Supremo de Justicia de Andalucia (TSJA) has today approved a request from the Andalucian government. It is now making it mandatory for clients entering bars and restaurants in Andalucia to produce a Covid passport.
A previous request was rejected just a few days ago as it included the need for workers to also provide this. Therefore, it is the amended request which obligates only customers that has been approved by the TSJA.
Not necessary for staff
The measure will remain in place until at least January 15. Furthermore, for those unvaccinated, a negative test result must be produced. Again, this is not necessary for bar and nightclub staff.
Juanma Moreno (President of the Regional Government of Andalucia) has said it is expected to come into force in around “48 hours” time. This is the time it will take to be published in the BOJA (Boletin Oficial de la Junta de Andalucia). Therefore, this new measure is expected to be enforced by Sunday or Monday.
Hospitals and nursing homes
In addition to bars and nightlife venues, the Covid passport will be required to enter hospitals and nursing homes in Andalucia.
Moreover, this measure is not only to help stop contagions in spaces where there are large concentrations of people such as bars and restaurants but, also, in places where there is a population at risk such as the elderly or the sick.
Downloaded or printed
Therefore, the Covid passport must either be downloaded to your mobile phone or printed as a certificate to allow you to produce on entry to such establishments.
