The Police Nacional have dismantled the largest drug trafficking organisation in Europe

In a joint operation of the National Police, the Tax Agency and EUROPOL with the collaboration of EUROJUST, a criminal organisation considered to be the largest financial entity of drug trafficking in Europe has been dismantled.

Since 2020, the organisation carried out deliveries and collections of money to finance drug trafficking. They returned the profits obtained (valued at more than €32 million per year) through compensation systems, money transport and cryptocurrency transactions between Spain and another 20 countries.

Drug trafficking organisation – 32 arrested

In addition to 32 people being arrested, almost €3,000,000 have been seized. Other items seized were;

Cogesa Expats
  • 575 kilograms of hashish
  • 276 kilograms of marijuana
  • 11 high-end vehicles
  • 7 luxury watches
  • 1 semi-automatic pistol

A marijuana plantation with almost 1,000 plants was also dismantled.

Cryptocurrency Accounts

Furthermore, 19 cryptocurrency accounts with an approximate value of €1,500,000 have been blocked and a vehicle “heating” workshop has been dismantled.
