Ibiza has experienced the kick-off for the summer this weekend with the opening of its main nightclubs. The nightlife association estimates that this event has attracted more than 30,000 visitors to the island.
For the second consecutive year, the nightlife sector has advanced its season. This event marks the beginning of summer, and the nightlife industry estimates that it drew in thousands of visitors. According to a report from Diario de Ibiza, tourists from Italy, the UK, and mainland Spain took advantage of the opportunity to experience the opening parties of some of the most famous clubs in Europe. The Ibiza airport was busy with over 1,000 operations during the long weekend.
Jose Luis Benitez, the manager of leisure activities in Ibiza, stated that most establishments had sold out. This translates to a revenue of €35 million and provides employment for 2,000 people. The first weekend of the season had a 100% hotel occupancy.
The opening of nightclubs was staggered, allowing visitors to enjoy partying from one establishment to another. Pachá and Amnesia opened on Friday, followed by Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza on Saturday, Club Chinois on Sunday and DC10 on Monday.
