MARBELLA – Art historian Andrew Hopkins gives a lecture in Marbella about the influential and wealthy Rockefeller family. He sheds light on this American family’s legacy as art collectors, as well as their embarrassing family secrets.
The English-language event “The Rockefellers, a Dynasty of Art Collectors” is organised by The Arts Society. It will take place on May 30 at 6.30 pm at Hugo Investing in Marbella.
Andrew Hopkins
Andrew Hopkins is an associate professor at the University of L’Aquila in Italy and former assistant director of the British School in Rome. He has received numerous awards for his pioneering work in architectural history research.
During the lecture, he will give a glimpse into the impressive art collection of the Rockefeller family and their philanthropic contributions to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. He will also share some of their most closely guarded secrets and scandals based on his personal experiences while working at Harvard University.
