As of today, the Spanish companies Acciona, El Corte Inglés and Santander are offering a different service. Their buildings in Madrid are partly being converted into vaccination locations. Vaccination against Covid-19 is possible from Wednesday in one of these three business premises in Madrid.
In collaboration with the Madrid Regional Council and the employers’ organisation CEOE, these companies are offering their workspace as additional vaccination points. This allows the vaccination process to speed up. At the moment, this is much needed in Spain due to the explosively rising covid figures, especially among young people.
Collaboration between Spanish companies and Madrid
The Madrid Regional Council hopes more companies in Spain will join the public-private partnership. It sits within the framework of the ‘Sumamos Salud+Economía’ project (connecting health and economy).
This applies not only to employees but also to other residents of the Madrid region. From today, employees of these companies can receive the vaccine at work. While from Wednesday, the rest of the population can make an appointment for Covid-19 vaccination there. Registration is via the same website as for the existing vaccination points in the Madrid region.
Extra vaccination locations Madrid during the summer
From Wednesday, these extra vaccination points will be on the voluntary appointment system. At all locations, people can go for a covid jab from Monday to Friday. The El Corte Inglés building offers weekend appointments as well. For the time being, these locations will remain open in July and August; but this can be extended if necessary.
Which properties can I visit in Madrid?
Thanks to these new vaccination points, it is possible to administer between 25,000 and 30,000 extra vaccines per week.
The Acciona vaccination point is in the headquarters at 18 Avenida de Europa, in the Parque Empresarial La Moraleja (Alcobendas). El Corte Inglés has an injection site in the Arapiles branch at 8 Calle de Arapiles in Madrid. Santander has a location available on Avenida de Cantabria (Boadilla del Monte).
