However, you may decide to spend your time on one of the beaches in northern Spain. If so, one popular destination this spring, is Rodas beach, in Galicia’s Atlantic Islands National Park. This is one of the 16 National Parks in Spain and includes the islands of Ons, Cíes, Sálvora and Cortegada. The Guardian newspaper declared it the best beach in the world in 2007.
Another popular destination in Galicia is La Lanzada beach, in Pontevedra, which is especially popular with water sports enthusiasts, such as snorkelling and scuba diving. In Cudillero (Asturias), located in a bay between two cliffs, El Silencio beach is one of the region’s favourites because it is surrounded by rock formations that make it a practically untouched beach.
