MADRID – After six months, the state of alarm in Spain is coming to an end. Furthermore, from Sunday May 9 at 00:00 there will no longer be any restrictions from the Spanish government. View in this article the full overview of the end of alarm measures for all Spanish regions.
Despite the fact that the measures arising from the state of alarm have ceased, the masking obligation continues to apply throughout Spain. Since 21 May last year, it has been mandatory throughout Spain for everyone to wear a mouth mask in public indoor spaces as well as in the open air. However, only sunbathing on the beach or at a swimming pool is excluded from this rule. Additionally, people who play sports or people who cannot tolerate a mouth mask for medical reasons do not have to wear one.
Some regions in Spain choose to enforce national measures such as curfews and perimeter fences. Meanwhile others do not know how quickly to put these measures behind them. Below are the end of alarm measures that will apply to each autonomous region from 9 May and that have currently been announced:
Andalucia
Covid incidence (number of Covid cases per 100,000 population): 192.8
Perimeter lockdown: none, except for municipalities with a higher incidence than 1,000 per 100,000 inhabitants.
Curfew: none
Maximum group size outside: no restriction
Maximum number of guests at home: no restriction
Catering opening hours: until midnight
Opening hours music bars and nightclubs: until 2am, the same rules apply with a maximum number of people at a table as in the catering industry. Dancing is only allowed in the open air with a mouth mask on.
Maximum group size per table in indoor catering: 8
Maximum group size per table catering terrace: 10
Aragon end of alarm measures
Covid Incidence: 297.3
Perimetral lockdown: borders of the autonomous region open, borders of three municipalities (Tarazona, Jaca and Calatayud) and four comarcas (Cinco Villas, Campo de Cariñena, Ribera Alta del Ebro and Valdejalón) remain closed due to the current health situation.
Curfew: none
Maximum group size outside: max 6 people for level 3 zones and a maximum of 4 people in zones with a higher risk than level 3.
Maximum number of guests at home: a maximum of 6 people for level 3 zones and a maximum of 4 people in zones with a higher risk than level 3.
Catering opening hours: Catering in level 3 zones closes at 11pm and zones with a higher risk than level 3, the catering industry closes at 8pm.
Maximum group size per table in catering within: 4 (maximum 30% of normal capacity). A maximum of 30 people can sit inside.
Maximum group size per table catering terrace: a maximum of 4 people at a table and a maximum of 50 people on the terrace.
Asturias
Covid Incidence: 117.6
Perimeter lockdown: none
Curfew: none
Maximum group size outside: unlimited, but regional government can impose restrictions if health situation changes.
Maximum number of guests at home: unlimited, but regional government can impose restrictions if health situation changes.
Catering opening hours: until 1am, music bars, discotheques, concert halls remain closed.
Maximum group size per table in indoor catering: 6
Maximum group size per table catering terrace: 6
Large shops and shopping centers: for shops larger than 300m2, the capacity is limited to 70%.
Balearic Islands end of alarm measures
Covid Incidence: 59.2
Perimeter lockdown: none, people from other regions or other countries arriving by boat or plane will be asked to show a negative PCR test before entry. The same applies to residents who have left the Balearic Islands for more than 72 hours.
Curfew: from 11pm to 6am to May 23.
Maximum group size outside: maximum 6 people
Maximum number of guests at home: maximum 6 people
Opening hours of catering and leisure establishments: closing time is 10.30pm, the catering industry inside remains closed and outside a maximum of 50% of usual capacity. On Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays, terraces close at 5pm.
Basque Country

Curfew: none, although there is still no consensus between judges and the Basque Country administration. This decision can change even after the state of alert has expired.

Canary Islands end of alarm measures

Perimeter lockdown: none, but people from outside the islands must be able to show a negative PCR test.
Curfew: La Gomera and La Palma (level 1) from midnight and El Hierro, Lanzarote, La Graciosa, Gran Canaria and Tenerife (level 2) from 11pm.
Maximum group size outside: level 1 maximum 10 people and level 2 maximum 6 people.
Maximum number of guests at home: level 1 maximum 10 persons and level 2 maximum 6 persons.
Catering opening hours: closes at 10pm.
Maximum group size per table in indoor catering: level 2 islands maximum 4 people per table and maximum 50% of usual capacity. Level 1 islands are allowed a maximum of 10 people per table.
