Latest tobacco price changes in Spain

In the year 2022, according to the Ministry of Finance and Public Functions, more than 9 million packs of 20 cigarettes were sold in Spain. Therefore, to try and lower the figures for sales and smokers, the Government is implementing more measures. This includes raising prices of tobacco products. 

Furthermore, smoking is prohibited in certain public spaces. In addition, Social Security will also finance a drug to help people to give up smoking. 

Tobacco price changes

The products of some tobacco brands change their price this March, as indicated in the BOE on Saturday March 11 and in the BOE on Saturday, March 25. In the new documents, it is specified that the cost of these products already entered into force on the same Saturday of publication.  

Cogesa Expats

This price change will be applied to the different tobacconists of the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. In addition, some changes are also reported in the cost of cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos or pipe tobacco, both per pack, units or containers, in Ceuta and Melilla. On this occasion, the rate changes are linked to brands such as Winston or Kings Blue. 

In previous weeks, the Government has already announced the price change of other brands and companies such as Montecristo, Macanudo, Terea, Hater or Haze. And months before, the rates of well-known brands such as Chesterfield, Marlboro, L&M and Philip Morris had already been changed.
