FOOTBALL – The first game of La Liga season 2021/22 kicked off tonight (Friday, August 13). Valencia played at home to Getafe.
One man down and Carlos Soler opened the scoreline for Valencia and scored the first goal of La Liga season 2021/22 after just 11 minutes with a penalty. However, there was already drama in the match when central defender, Hugo Guillamón was sent off in the opening minutes of the game.

However, after the early flurry, there were no more goals, and the first half finished 1-0 for Valencia.
A game of two halves in La Liga 2021/22
After the excitement of the first 15 minutes, the rest of the game proved to be uneventful except for the second red card of the game which was handed to Getafe´s Erick Cabaco. But still, despite Getafe having almost 75% of possession of the game, it ended 1-0.

Tomorrow sees Mallorca take on Real Betis and Cadiz play at home against Levante. The last game tomorrow is Real Madrid away against Alaves and Osasuna v Espanyol.
Sunday
Then on Sunday, there is action from Atletico and Barcelona. Title winners, Atletico Madrid are away against Celta Vigo, and Barcelona will play their first game minus Messi in Camp Nou against Real Sociedad. Later, Sevilla takes on Rayo Vallecano
