King Felipe visits London

Spain’s King Felipe VI has travelled to London to preside over a gala dinner to mark the 135th anniversary of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the UK. King Felipe VI had a private meeting with King Charles III of the United Kingdom on Monday.

The meeting took place at Clarence House, the official residence of the new British monarch. This is the second time the two kings have met since King Charles succeeded his mother Elizabeth II to the throne upon her death on 8 September.

Don Felipe earlier travelled to London with Doña Letizia, as did Spain’s emeritus monarchs, to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth. He also attended the reception at Buckingham Palace the day before the funeral. Felipe VI attended the ceremony at Westminster Abbey and the more private ceremony at Windsor Castle, where Elizabeth II’s remains were laid to rest.
