Triple A animal shelter in Marbella has rescued and homed the lost and stray cats and dogs of Marbella for thirty years. The association wants to celebrate this anniversary with you!
On Sunday, October 23rd the celebration is open to the public in the temporary shelters (Carretera de Ojén, km 33) from 12:30-17:30h. You will find international food stands, a cocktail/wine bar, live music with Nathan Dean, market stalls and a ‘nearly new cloths sale’. Kids can entertain themselves in a special area and some games will be organised for them. It’s also possible to join a tombola. And don´t worry, even with great interest ample parking is available.
While waiting for its new premises the charity is embracing its new home. In the meantime, they introduce other elements to improve the animal’s quality of life. This also includes creating different areas with herbal plants like lavender as well as playing very calming music.
New facility
If the works are done, the facility will increase its surface area to almost 2,000 square metres. In these new headquarters, Triple A will be able to help 700 animals, significantly increasing the capacity of the association. It will have 70 modules for dogs and cats and a closed area of 610 square metres and an open area of 956 square metres. There will also be 21 modules for other uses; an area for dogs, which will differentiate between large and small, and which will have a veterinary room with an operating theatre, recovery and washing area, as well as training areas, kennels and storage areas, and a similar space for cats, with a quarantine area for sick animals and another for recreation, with a central area for events.
Support for Triple-A
Marbella’s Town Hall fully supports keeping these animals alive, in good health and finding them new homes with a government subvention of €80,000 a year. However, annually they need €600.000. Therefore Triple A always needs your help. Not only by donating but it’s also possible to be a volunteer. Furthermore, you could adopt or sponsor a dog or a cat.
