CORUña – With 140 cruises scheduled for next year, the port of A Coruña expects to experience a record. Moreover, it is yet another confirmation of the growing popularity of north-western Spain as a holiday destination.

The port authorities have confirmed that the facility’s calendar already has 140 vessels scheduled to arrive throughout the year. However, this is a preliminary figure as the number of stopovers is expected to increase as Covid restrictions are lifted.

Therefore, with these estimates from the port of A Coruña, it can be assumed 2022 will start to surpass the last record year of 2017. Which, at that time, 120 cruises arrived at the port. Furthermore, they brought a total of 180,000 cruise passengers to the city and its surroundings. Consequently, the economic impact of the upcoming cruises is expected to be around €15 million. This will also showcase Galicia as the perfect holiday destination.
