MALAGA – As part of operation ZELENO, the Guardia Civil has arrested 11 people and dismantled a criminal organisation that transported hashish and marijuana hidden in thermos to throughout Central Europe.

The investigation began when the Civil Guard learned of an organisation, based in Málaga province. The criminal organisation was made up of Central Europeans and North Africans. Furthermore, it was though they could be transporting drugs in water thermoses from the south of Spain to various European countries.

As the investigation continued, the police were able to confirm the members of the organisation bought lots of hashish and marijuana. This was then transported in convoys, with vehicles that provided security, and even some ships. Moreover, in the ships they hid the drugs within legal transport loads.

Logistics

To prepare the vehicles, the organisation used a workshop in San Pedro de Alcántara (Málaga) and a warehouse in Lucena (Córdoba). In addition, to cover up logistics tasks, they had a company in charge of a figurehead created for this purpose.

Cogesa Expats

As a result of the investigation, the police found out the roles of each of the arms of the organisation. There were people carrying out managerial tasks, and others in charge of handling and concealing the drug inside the legal cargo. There was also a group of people who transported the narcotics from their place of origin to the secure ships. And finally, there were those who performed nursery work.

Seized

Consequently, 14 homes were searched, and 11 people arrested. They seized around 200 kilograms of marijuana and a further 200 of hashish.

Furthermore, the police seized 7 high-end vehicles, 2 indoor plantations, a gun, a bulletproof vest, and abundant police technical material. Apparently, this is what criminal organisations usually use to rob from other rival organizations. According to the Guardia Civil, this is known as rollovers.
