TORREMOLINOS – A 28-year-old woman was murdered in broad daylight on Wednesday in the southern Spanish resort of Torremolinos. The woman was stabbed to death in the La Carihuela district.

The woman was stabbed to death at 11:30 am in an apartment in the touristic ‘Calle San Ginés’, in the neighbourhood that is very popular among holidaymakers. The perpetrator, around 45 years old, would be her partner. Presumably it involves a case of gender violence. According to Spanish media, the man would have Italian nationality.

The first calls to Andalusia’s 112 emergency number came in at noon. Witnesses explained that a man stabbed a woman after a fight. Then, as they say, he fled on foot.

Several stab wounds

Upon arrival, the medical services could do nothing for the life of the young woman, reportedly of Spanish nationality, except to confirm her death. She had several stab wounds. The National Police has opened an investigation and activated the protocol for a possible case of gender violence.
