British Airways launches new route from London to San Sebastián

SAN SEBASTIÁN – Last weekend, San Sebastián Airport (Guipúzcoa) received the first flight of the new route operated by BA CityFlyer, a subsidiary airline of British Airways (IAG), from London City Airport (United Kingdom).  

Thus, the Gipuzkoa airport adds its first regular international connection. From now on, the British company will operate two weekly frequencies on Mondays and Fridays between both airports.

This new British Airways international link joins the rest of the routes that currently operate in San Sebastian regularly. These are from the following areas;

  • Madrid (Iberia and Air Nostrum)
  • Barcelona (Vueling)
  • Gran Canaria (Binter)
  • Seville, Malaga and the Balearic Islands of Mallorca and Menorca (Volotea)

The first plane from London, for which BA CityFlyer has used an Embraer 190 with a capacity for 98 passengers, landed last Friday in Hondarribia, a town in Gipuzkoa located 20 kilometres from the city of San Sebastián, where the airport is located. 

BA CityFlyer is a subsidiary of British Airways that operates from London City Airport, mainly on domestic flights within the United Kingdom, but also to European cities such as Barcelona, ​​Milan (Italy), Thessaloniki (Greece) and Luxembourg, among others.
